Artist's Comments

This is just ONE of the projects I had to finish over spring break...and thankfully, it's over. Only 4 more projects to go!

EDIT! Since everyone is asking, I did this with Winsor Newton gouache, a Prang watercolor set, coloured ink and on Fabriano watercolor paper.

Models and Fish FINAL by ~ardentfem Fashionable, rich in colors, and a crazy concept to illustrate the idea models and their standing posture, not to mention that your attention lies in everything else but the face, even the fish has its moments. (Featured by `leodadominico)

Ah, dude, that is so awesome :D I just love it... the activity, the colours, the vibrancy, the action. The composition is perfect, with the fish and the models intertwining perfectly, while I have to say that the colouring is my favourite aspect of this picture-it's all so beautiful and bright, giving it a real sense of business. I love it! :D Great work, mate, this deserved daily deviations, it's fantastic. Awesome! :D

Hahaha! This is so cool!
It's like you took those over-acted fashion model poses and turned them artistic.
Unbelievable! So sureal!
Love it.

I have tasty thoughts.

I love this idea _though quite misogynist _about models exposed in an aquarium, fulfilling the purpose they were meant to: standing displayed behind a window, remaining mute.
The parallel you made between the models and fishes is full of details, not only in the idea but also graphically, like the dresses versus fish's fins, or the hair's color blending into fishes color.
Your dared the highly saturated hues, it could have been awfull but there it suits perfectly the fashion world you describe.
Not to mention the models poses, which work really nicely there...
And of course, the medium used _watercolor_ perfect for rendering such an underwater scene.
Great job you did, really! Really derserving some time spent looking at it and thinking about what you meant!
